Item Master
Item Master (Items)
Item Master is your catalog of products and services. In the sidebar it may appear as Items with an icon for inventory or products. Use it to keep names, descriptions, prices, and taxes consistent whenever you add lines to quotes and invoices.
Why use it?
- Fewer typos and mismatched prices across quotes and invoices.
- Easier reporting when line items share the same item codes or categories.
- Optional links to item categories and lookups configured under System settings.
Item Master vs item lookups
Item lookups (under Configuration) define quick-pick lines and defaults. Item Master is the full list of items your team sells or tracks. Many teams maintain the catalog here and still use lookups for speed on data entry.
Back orders
When purchase orders and shipping features are enabled, you may also see Back orders under Items. That view helps track fulfillment—availability depends on your add-ons and settings.
