Document number schemes

Document number schemes control how Xagle generates the next number for invoices, quotes, credit memos, and other document types. Your administrator maintains schemes so numbering stays consistent and legal for your region.

Where to configure them

Open the gear menu → Configuration → Document number schemes (or the equivalent label in your build). From there you can create or edit schemes and choose patterns such as prefixes, year segments, and sequence length.

Using schemes on documents

Individual settings screens (for example Invoice or Quote defaults under System Settings) let you pick which scheme applies when a new document is created. If numbers look wrong, check both the scheme definition and the setting on the document type.

Permissions

Only users with rights to manage configuration should change schemes. Mistakes can affect numbering for new documents going forward.
